LEVEL UP your gameplan: C.I.A.
- Control what you can.
- Influence what you’re able.
- Accept & manage the rest.
Focus on what matters to LEVEL UP.
In a world that constantly bombards us with social media influences, global, federal, and local pressures that tell us to do more and carry more, this framework is a reminder that clarity is power. Not everything deserves your energy, and not everything is within our reach, and that’s okay. What matters most is knowing the difference and not feeling weighed down by what is not in our control.
When we focus on what we can CONTROL, we shift our focus and energy in a different direction. That’s where growth and joy lives. That’s where confidence is built. It’s our daily decisions: the way we show up, how we treat others, how we manage our time, and how we care for our minds and bodies; that SHAPE who we become and sustain who we are.
When we lean into INFLUENCE, we recognize the power of our voice, our presence, and our relationships. We may not be able to control every situation, but we can guide, support, advocate, and lead with intention. Influence is rooted in connection. It’s how we uplift others, shift environments, and create spaces where people feel seen, heard, and valued. Leverage your influence to combat the negativity and uplift the HOPE we need in this time and place.
And then there’s the hardest part: ACCEPTING and MANAGING what we cannot change. This isn’t passive. It’s powerful. It’s choosing resilience over resistance. It’s understanding that while we may not control every outcome, we always have control over how we respond. Acceptance creates space for peace. Management builds the skills to move forward with strength and purpose; to prevail and triumph through adversity.
This is the work we must model for our students, our colleagues, and ourselves. In health education, in leadership, and in life, self-management isn’t about perfection. It’s about awareness, decision-making, and growth.
So the next time things feel overwhelming, come back to this:
- What can I control?
- What can I influence?
- What must I accept and manage?
That clarity doesn’t limit you, it frees us to LEVEL UP!
