Why I Podcast

As a passionate advocate for physical education (PE) and its transformative potential, I embarked on a journey to create the PE Insights Podcast. In this digital age, where time is a precious commodity and access to professional development resources can be limited, I saw podcasting as a powerful medium to bridge these gaps and foster a global community of PE educators.

My motivation stemmed from a deep-seated belief in the value of sharing voices within the PE space. Through the podcast, I aimed to democratise access to research, evidence-informed practices, and innovative ideas, empowering PE teachers worldwide to enhance their teaching practices and ultimately enrich the lives of their students.

What drives me is my genuine love for discussing all things related to PE. I find immense joy in engaging with individuals who share my passion and are dedicated to making a positive impact in the field. Every conversation I have on the podcast is an opportunity to delve into diverse perspectives, exchange insights, and foster a sense of belonging among PE professionals.

Despite my enthusiasm, I often grapple with feelings of impostor syndrome. However, I’ve come to realise that the true stars of the podcast are the remarkable guests who generously share their expertise and experiences. Each guest brings a unique perspective and a wealth of knowledge, making every episode a source of inspiration and professional growth for both myself and the listeners.

Through engaging conversations with guests—whether in person or via online platforms—I want to create a platform where their voices can be heard, their stories can be shared, and their insights can spark meaningful reflections. By amplifying the voices of these dedicated individuals, I hope to ignite a ripple effect of inspiration and innovation within the global PE community (a grand claim, I know!).

Ultimately, the driving force behind why I podcast is the desire to contribute to the collective growth and development of PE education worldwide. By facilitating conversations, fostering connections, and disseminating valuable insights, I aim to empower PE teachers to continuously strive for excellence in their practice and, in turn, positively impact the lives of their students.

In a world where collaboration and knowledge-sharing are paramount, the PE Insights Podcast serves as a beacon of inspiration and a catalyst for positive change within the field of physical education. I am excited, motivated and very much privileged by the fact that the PE Scholar (@PEScholar)team saw potential in the podcast and they have now committed to helping supercharge this podcast and to use their fantastic resource and PE network to help extend the reach further and to attract more inspiring guests.

If you or anyone you know would like to come on to the podcast and chat PE, don’t hesitate to reach out!
